Do your sticks really work?

Yes! Skincare products—whether a cream, serum, or stick—are really just delivery systems that help active ingredients reach the skin where they can work. What matters most is the formulation and whether those active ingredients are stable, in the right concentration, and able to penetrate the skin effectively.

Our Vitamin C and Bakuchiol Sticks are formulated without water (anhydrous) using a base of squalane and lipids. This type of formula keeps delicate ingredients like Vitamin C stable and effective, since there’s no water for them to break down in. When you apply the stick, the oil-based base spreads a thin layer over the skin. What you feel as a “residue” is actually that nourishing lipid layer, while the active ingredients are already diffusing into the outer skin layers.

Oil-soluble ingredients like bakuchiol naturally absorb through the skin’s lipid barrier. For Vitamin C, we use a 10% concentration of tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (THA), which is an oil-soluble, highly stable form of Vitamin C. This allows it to penetrate more deeply than traditional water-soluble Vitamin C, delivering benefits like brightening, collagen support, and antioxidant protection—all while being gentler on the skin.

So while the texture feels different from a liquid serum, the formulas were designed for optimal stability and absorption, and you’re still getting the full benefit of the active ingredients.
